Living in IT Era Act I: Parts of Microsoft Word (mostly)

 



  • Title Bar - contains the name of the application and filename
  • Menu bar - contains the menus to activate the ribbon, group, and tabs of commands
  • Ribbon - contains the basic group of related commands
  • Ruler - serves as a guide for pagination and margins
  • Scroll bar - use to navigate the document
  • Document window - the text area where you can edit or insert other elements such as drawings, images, etc.
  • Navigation pane - the window where you can find and replace parts of the document
  • Quick access toolbar - lets you add more frequently used toolbars for easy access


  • Status bar - display more information about the document such as the number of words, or characters, or lines, etc.
  • Viewing options - use to change viewing mode of documents such as page layout, reading view or full screen, or web layout
  • Zoom slide/ Zoom control - use to change the viewing size, you can either enlarge the doc. or minimize the doc. by pressing the + or - button
